5 Deeds That Carry the Reward Equivalent to Hajj & Umrah

The reward for Hajj and Umrah is immense—forgiveness of sins and Jannah. While the obligation of Hajj remains, there are daily deeds that carry a similar spiritual weight.

1. Praying Fajr in Congregation and Remaining Seated

The Prophet (SAW) said: "Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun has risen, then prays two Rak'ats, will have a reward like that of Hajj and Umrah, complete, complete, complete." (Tirmidhi)

This simple act of morning remembrance (Ishraq) is a golden opportunity for daily rewards.

2. Attending the Mosque for Knowledge

Going to the mosque with the sole intention of learning or teaching good is equivalent to the reward of a perfect Hajj.

3. Serving Parents

Kindness to parents is often equated with Jihad and Hajj. Looking after them, especially in their old age, opens the doors of Paradise and grants the reward of pilgrimage.

4. Walking to Obligatory Prayers

Some narrations mention that walking to the mosque for a prescribed prayer in the state of purity carries the reward of a Hajj.

5. Remembering Allah (Dhikr)

The remembrance of Allah is greater than everything. Constant Dhikr keeps the heart connected to the Divine, a state similar to that of a pilgrim in Ihram.

Note: These rewards do not lift the obligation of performing Hajj itself. They are incentives for spiritual growth and maximizing rewards in our daily lives.
